“MUS-E: Arts at School”: Continuing with the 17 Sustainable Development Goals!
The “MUS-E: Arts at School” program of the International Yehudi Menuhin Foundation, represented in Greece by the Greek Children’s Art Museum, continues in our school with great interest and enthusiasm!
This time, the program was combined with the 17 Sustainable Development Goals in the 4th grade, within the framework of Skills Workshops and School Activity Programs. Our students created their own comics, guided by the visual artist Mr. Ilias Kollias, in collaboration with the class teacher, Ms. Nerina Vamvakouli.
The 17 Sustainable Development Goals are a cornerstone of our school’s commitment to sustainability and a key priority in our educational process. They aim to shape responsible, active, and aware citizens who care, participate, and envision a better world for all.
These goals serve as a global roadmap for a better future, focusing on major issues such as environmental protection, poverty reduction, equality, health, and quality education. Through learning about the SDGs, students come to understand that even small actions can make a big difference. They realize that they can actively contribute to a fairer, cleaner, and more humane world.
And when sustainability is taught through the power of Art… the results are truly inspiring!
The combination of the 17 Sustainable Development Goals with the “MUS-E: Arts at School” program played a key role in the success of this educational initiative, sparking students’ interest, attention, and active participation throughout the project.
Activities carried out:
- Students were introduced to the 17 Sustainable Development Goals through rich visual and interactive material, including videos, quizzes, images, and songs
- They learned about comics and the different ways to create them
- They combined two Sustainable Development Goals and created their own original comic
